1. Acceptance

By accessing or using AI Video Summarizer at aivideosummarizer.ai, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into these terms, or use the service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where permitted by law.

2. The service

AI Video Summarizer accepts supported public YouTube URLs and may provide an available transcript, AI-generated summary, chapters, timestamp citations, grounded answers, browser-stored Notes, and export tools. Transcript availability depends on the source video and our providers. Features may change, fail, be limited, or be discontinued.

The current service does not host uploaded video files, promise access to every video, or guarantee that a third-party source will continue to make a transcript or embedded player available.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree that you will:

• Submit only content that you are authorized to access and process.
• Respect copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, and other rights.
• Follow YouTube's terms and the rules of any source platform.
• Review important AI-generated claims against the original video and timestamp evidence.
• Comply with applicable laws and use the service only for lawful purposes.

You are responsible for the URLs, questions, and other information you submit and for how you use, share, cite, or rely on the resulting transcript and generated output.

4. Prohibited use

You may not:

• Process private, restricted, unlawfully obtained, or confidential material without authorization.
• Use the service to infringe rights, harass, deceive, defame, exploit, or facilitate unlawful activity.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, security controls, provider restrictions, or access controls.
• Interfere with the service, distribute malware, probe for vulnerabilities, or overload the infrastructure.
• Use automated access at a scale that harms the service or exceeds documented limits.
• Reverse engineer or copy protected parts of the service except where applicable law expressly allows it.
• Present generated output as verified fact when you have not checked the cited source.

5. Content and intellectual property

You retain any rights you have in information you submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to process that information only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service under these terms and the Privacy Policy. This permission ends when the information is no longer needed, subject to temporary caches, provider retention, and legal obligations.

Source videos, transcripts, names, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. AI Video Summarizer does not grant you rights to third-party content. The service interface, original software, branding, and site content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

6. AI output and source accuracy

AI-generated summaries and answers may omit context, misunderstand speech, contain errors, or cite imperfect transcript segments. Timestamps help you verify the source but do not guarantee accuracy. You must independently review output before relying on it for important decisions.

The service is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, safety, academic, or other expert advice. Do not rely on generated output as the sole basis for a high-impact decision.

7. Third-party services

The service depends on third parties including Cloudflare, Supadata, DeepSeek, and YouTube. Their services and content are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for a third party's availability, content, policies, or independent actions.

8. Availability, limits, and changes

We may impose usage limits, suspend abusive requests, modify features, change providers, or stop providing all or part of the service. We may do so without advance notice when needed for security, legal compliance, provider availability, or service reliability.

9. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Video Summarizer and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, business, opportunity, or reputation; or harm arising from third-party content or reliance on AI output.

Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service during the 12 months before the claim or USD 100. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe you violated these terms, created risk for users or the service, or when required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits—will remain in effect.

12. Changes and disputes

We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. The updated date identifies the latest version. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.

Before bringing a formal claim, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally. Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.
